A local physician in Weimar is inviting residents to participate in the town’s first anniversary Walk with a Doc Texas event. The program encourages physicians to organize community walks, inviting patients, their families, and other members of the public to join. During the walk, Dr. Duchicela and other health care professionals will offer support and answer questions.
Walk with a Doc Texas operates under a national nonprofit organization focused on promoting physical activity and health. In Texas, the initiative is supported by the Texas Medical Association (TMA). Participation in the program is free and does not require preregistration. Updates about future walks will be posted on the chapter’s Walk with a Doc website.
The TMA is recognized as the largest state medical society in the United States, representing over 59,000 physicians and medical students across 110 county medical societies. Since its founding in 1853, TMA has aimed to improve health outcomes for Texans. Funding for Walk with a Doc Texas in 2025 comes from the TMA Foundation, TMA Insurance Trust, and contributions from institutions, physicians, and their families.
