Virgin Hotels has requested a Dallas court to reveal the identities of three women who have accused Bill Hutchinson, a developer associated with the Virgin Hotel Dallas project, of sexual assault. The request was made as part of an ongoing civil lawsuit filed in 2021, which also names Hutchinson’s company, Dunhill Partners, and Virgin Hotels as defendants.
The lawsuit alleges that both companies were negligent and aware that Hutchinson used properties such as the Virgin Hotel Dallas and nearby Dunhill-owned apartments to target young women. Hutchinson has denied all allegations. In a 2024 filing, he described the case as “a frivolous ‘shakedown’ lawsuit filed by two former girlfriends and another woman who seek to turn consensual relationships and actions into payday.”
Virgin Hotels, in its 2025 legal response, stated it had no duty to protect the accusers and claimed it was unaware of any risk posed by Hutchinson.
Last week, Virgin Hotels submitted a motion seeking to alter an existing protective order. The company argued that allowing the plaintiffs to proceed under pseudonyms—Jane Doe 1, Jane Doe 3, and Jane Doe 4—permits them to “anonymously prosecute salacious claims.” Virgin Hotels also asserted that using numbered pseudonyms suggests there are more accusers than actually exist.
Although only three women are involved in this particular suit, at least five women have accused Hutchinson of sexual misconduct since 2021. According to sources familiar with the matter, there are no additional accusers involved in this specific case.
Michelle Simpson Tuegel, attorney for the plaintiffs, criticized Virgin Hotels’ request: “a desperate late-stage tactic from a powerful corporation to scare and further traumatize our clients.” She added: “Defendants have known these plaintiffs’ names for years and have been provided with their extensive personal records.”
According to court documents, Jane Doe 1 was a college student when she alleges she was sexually assaulted by Hutchinson after he gave her alcohol at Virgin Hotel Dallas before taking her across the street to his apartment complex. The complaint says she originally contacted him seeking career advice.
Jane Doe 3 and Jane Doe 4 allege they were raped multiple times by Hutchinson while in their late twenties.
The initial lawsuit states: “Virgin Hotels’ leadership knew that Hutchinson was a problem, having received direct reports from Virgin Hotels Dallas’ employees and others about Hutchinson’s behavior with women.” It continues: “Virgin Hotels’ CEO was aware of the reports before Jane Doe 3 and Jane Doe 4 met Hutchinson,” but adds that no action was taken by various entities within the company.
Hutchinson is known for founding Dunhill Partners in 1984 and appearing on TLC’s reality show “Marrying Millions.” In addition to this civil suit, he faced criminal charges after being arrested twice in 2021 related to accusations from minors. While a grand jury declined to indict him on Dallas-related charges, he pleaded guilty in California to misdemeanor sexual battery—a plea requiring him to register as a sex offender.
Following his arrest, Hutchinson temporarily stepped down as CEO of Dunhill Partners but later resumed his position. The firm has since sold several apartment complexes connected with the allegations. Despite damage to his reputation within real estate circles, he remains active professionally; most recently delivering an address at the Cornell Real Estate Council in Dallas last November.
A hearing on whether or not to lift anonymity protections for the plaintiffs is scheduled for February 2. The trial is set for June 8.
