This marks an improvement of 10 spots from the previous year and places the university in the top 20% of online universities nationwide. Texas Tech secured top 50 positions in seven out of eleven categories where it was evaluated.

“This improvement in our rankings reflects what is a comprehensive, ongoing effort to create an innovative learning experience for the online Texas Tech student,” said Brian Still, vice provost for Texas Tech Online. “Texas Tech Online offers a fast, free application process to its online students, 24/7 tutoring, one-on-one support from dedicated student advocates, free credit for prior learning and work experience, and a broad, relevant range of degrees, including new offerings in legal studies and human-centered artificial intelligence, all taught by great faculty in flexible eight-week course offerings.”

The university was recognized for providing strong online educational opportunities for veterans. In specific program rankings, Texas Tech placed No. 15 among Best Online Bachelor’s in Business Programs and No. 21 among Best Online MBA Programs. The institution also ranked No. 33 for Best Online Non-MBA Master’s in Business Programs, as well as within the top 100 for both Best Online Master’s in Information Technology (No. 74) and Best Online Master’s in Engineering (No. 79).

U.S. News & World Report assesses distance-learning programs independently from their parent institutions to give prospective students insight into services tailored specifically to remote learners. Their evaluation relies on data collected through statistical surveys that examine areas such as student performance, available services and technology resources, expert opinion, student engagement levels, admissions selectivity, and faculty qualifications.

Texas Tech Online currently provides more than 80 fully online degrees along with certification and preparation programs.
