The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) has announced the appointment of Samuel S. “Scott” Olguin as a new public member of the commission. The appointment was made by Governor Greg Abbott on September 17, 2025. Olguin’s term is set to run until January 31, 2031.

Olguin, who is from Horseshoe Bay, takes over the position previously held by Jason E. Hartgraves of Frisco. Hartgraves’ term ended in January. With this appointment, Olguin becomes the last commissioner to be appointed for the current season.

In addition to Olguin’s appointment, TREC recently welcomed two other new commissioners: Kristi Davis of Carrolton and James B. “JB” Goodwin of Austin, both serving as broker members.
