The Texas Department of Insurance announced on Mar. 31 that it will hold a Speak Up, Texas! event in Nacogdoches on Friday, April 10.

The event aims to give residents an opportunity to share their ideas and concerns about the home and auto insurance market. It will take place at The Fredonia Hotel from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Amanda Crawford, the Texas insurance commissioner, will speak about the current state of home and auto insurance, offer tips for shopping for coverage, and explain how the department can assist Texans. “I’m excited to meet with Texans and hear their solutions to strengthen and improve the insurance market,” said Crawford.

Texans who are unable to attend in person can also submit their suggestions online through the department’s website at www.tdi.texas.gov/speakuptexas/index.html.

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Crawford as insurance commissioner in February. The upcoming event is part of ongoing efforts by the department to engage with residents across the state.
