The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) marked the beginning of 2026 with the opening of two affordable housing developments in Fort Worth and Dallas. Thrive on Crawford, a 67-unit property located at 1310 Crawford Street in Fort Worth, is collaborating with JPS Health Network to offer residents direct access to healthcare services. The development provides one, two, and three-bedroom units for households earning between 30 to 60 percent of the Area Median Income. Amenities include a business center, clubhouse and lounge area, and an outdoor playground.

Thrive on Crawford received a 2021 9% Housing Tax Credit (HTC) valued at approximately $17 million over ten years, a supplemental 9% HTC in 2023, and a Multifamily Direct Loan of $1.8 million in the same year.

In Dallas, April Housing has reopened West Virginia Park at 8004 West Virginia Drive after significant renovations. The rehabilitated property offers 204 units near Southwest Center Mall and other community resources. Updates include renovated kitchens and bathrooms, improved outdoor play areas, and rooftop solar panels designed to offset electricity usage and provide backup power during outages. West Virginia Park was awarded a 2024 4% HTC worth about $18 million over ten years.

Those interested in living at Thrive on Crawford can contact the management office at (888) 530-2445. For information about West Virginia Park in Dallas, call (972) 283-4000.
