The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved fines totaling $344,765 against 23 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The enforcement actions included agreed orders in several categories: two related to air quality, one involving industrial hazardous waste, one for industrial wastewater discharge, one for municipal wastewater discharge, two concerning petroleum storage tanks, six regarding public water systems, one for sludge management, and two for water quality.
Default orders were also issued in various categories: one multi-media case, two municipal solid waste cases, one petroleum storage tank case, two utility cases, and one water quality case.
Additionally, on July 29 and August 5 of this year, the executive director approved further penalties amounting to $126,988 against 44 entities.
