TCEQ approves over $837,000 in fines for environmental violations

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved penalties amounting to $730,403 against 28 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The enforcement actions included agreed orders in several categories: six related to air quality, one involving the Edwards Aquifer, three for industrial wastewater discharges, one multi-media case, two municipal wastewater discharges, one petroleum storage tank issue, eight public water systems cases, and one water quality violation.

Additionally, default orders were issued in two multi-media cases, one municipal wastewater discharge case, and two public water system cases.

The executive director also approved further penalties totaling $107,083 against 31 entities on September 16 and September 23.
