TCEQ approves more than $2.8 million in environmental violation fines

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has approved fines totaling $2,360,925 against 25 regulated entities for violations of state environmental regulations. The penalties were decided during the commission’s meeting held yesterday.

Agreed orders were issued in several enforcement categories, including nine cases related to air quality, one involving industrial hazardous waste, one concerning industrial wastewater discharge, two multi-media violations, one municipal solid waste case, one municipal wastewater discharge issue, two petroleum storage tank violations, six public water system cases, and two water quality violations.

Additionally, on August 26 and September 9, the executive director approved further penalties amounting to $448,340 against 118 entities.
