Special election set for Texas Senate District 4 after vacancy

Governor Greg Abbott has announced that a special election will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, to fill the Texas Senate District 4 seat. The seat was recently vacated by Senator Brandon Creighton.

According to the Governor’s office, individuals interested in running for the position must submit their applications to the Secretary of State by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Early voting for this special election is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 20, 2026.
