Sean Patrick Wade and his wife Martha Long sold their historic Houston home on March 9, according to public records released on April 10. The property, located at 3 Remington Lane in the Museum District, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was purchased by the Remington Trust. The sale price has not been disclosed.

The transaction marks the end of nearly a year on the market for this notable residence. Designed in 1939 by architect John F. Staub for Margaret Cullinan, heiress to Texaco founder Joseph S. Cullinan, the two-story house features four bedrooms and seven bathrooms across its 7,800 square feet. It sits on a 1.4-acre lot with amenities including a pool and hot tub added in 2002.

Wade and Long initially listed the home last April for $9.8 million after purchasing it in 2022 when it was listed at $10 million. Over several months, the listing price decreased multiple times before settling at $8.5 million when it sold—about $1,080 per square foot—making it Houston’s most expensive residential sale last month according to data from local realtors.

The house is part of Shadyside subdivision near Rice University—a gated community developed by Joseph Cullinan that has long been associated with Houston’s social history. Notable events such as one of Howard Hughes’ weddings have taken place there, and other significant properties include homes designed by Staub like those at nearby addresses.

In related sales activity within Shadyside, Kenneth Moczulski sold another historic property to Ashley Watt last September after listing it for $10.6 million. Additionally, Wade and Long acquired another Staub-designed home at River Oaks Boulevard last July; that property was listed at $18.9 million when sold.
