Occidental Petroleum announced on October 2, 2025, that Richard A. Jackson has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, Jackson will oversee the company’s global oil and gas operations, low-carbon integrated technologies, as well as midstream and marketing functions, along with health, safety, and environment initiatives. He will continue to report to Vicki Hollub, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Jackson previously served as Senior Vice President and President of U.S. Onshore Resources and Carbon Management Operations since 2020. His earlier roles at Occidental include President and General Manager of the Permian Delaware Basin and EOR, Vice President of Investor Relations, Vice President of Drilling Americas, and leadership of Oxy Low Carbon Ventures.

Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. He serves on the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative’s Climate Investment Board as well as the American Petroleum Institute’s Upstream Committee.
