The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) held its annual MNPL Conference in Savannah, Georgia on March 31. Around 300 IAM union members gathered to discuss labor politics, fundraising efforts, and hear legislative updates ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
The event brought together delegates who are active in political advocacy for workers’ rights. Attendees received information from legislative leaders about the strategies and priorities that will guide their actions as they approach the next election cycle.
Following the conference sessions, IAM delegates joined the No Kings rally and march through downtown Savannah. During this public demonstration, participants voiced criticism of current presidential labor policies.
The combination of conference discussions and public protest reflected ongoing concerns among union members regarding national labor issues. The event also demonstrated a continued commitment by IAM members to political engagement as a means to advance their interests.
Looking forward, IAM representatives are expected to maintain their focus on legislative action and grassroots mobilization as they prepare for future electoral contests.
