The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Women’s & Young Workers Department has opened registration for two upcoming leadership programs aimed at women in the union. The Women’s Leadership Program will take place from March 1 to 6, 2026, and the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is scheduled for March 15 to 20, 2026. Both events will be held at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland.

According to the IAM, the Women’s Leadership Program is intended to encourage female union members to become more active within their local chapters and districts. The program focuses on developing skills in organizing, parliamentary procedure, political and legislative involvement, strategic planning, and network building.

The Advanced Women’s Leadership Program is available for those who have already completed the initial program. It aims to build on previous training by further enhancing leadership development and related skills.

“Women’s Leadership Programs equip IAM sisters with the tools and confidence needed to lead effectively at every level of the union and to strengthen solidarity across our membership,” according to an official statement from the organization.

The call letter issued by IAM includes information about tuition, transportation, curriculum details, and specifies that registration must be completed using a departmental form. The deadline for registering for the Women’s Leadership Program is January 21, 2026. For the Advanced Women’s Leadership Program, registration closes on February 11, 2026.

Members seeking more information are advised to contact the Women’s & Young Workers Department at 301-967-4747. The department encourages eligible members to participate in these educational opportunities as part of efforts to foster a stronger and more inclusive union.
