IAM Union members who work as air traffic controllers are getting ready for upcoming contract negotiations with Leidos, a government contractor. Mark Costa, a member of the IAM negotiations team and a flight service specialist, described his job as providing important weather and safety information to pilots. Costa represents Local 2010 in Reston, Virginia. He noted that both his team and Local 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas, are involved in the preparations for these talks.

Costa said, “My professional role as a flight service specialist is responsible for providing critical weather and safety information to pilots.” He added that both Locals 2010 and 2011 are preparing together for the negotiations with Leidos.

The outcome of these contract discussions could affect how air traffic services are provided by union members working under Leidos contracts.
