A Houston couple has acquired a major horse ranch in North Texas, purchasing the 860-acre TR9 Ranch and Equestrian Facility near Weatherford from Teton Ridge. The sale was handled by Dallas-based land brokerage Icon Global and closed on January 8. While the final price was not disclosed, the property had been listed for $43.5 million.

The buyers, Jason and Kisha Itkin, are known for their involvement in ranching and equestrian ventures. Jason Itkin is a partner at Houston law firm Arnold & Itkin, while Kisha Itkin plays an active role in managing their agricultural businesses. They also operate Theorem Ranch in Montana and own a vineyard in Napa Valley.

TR9 Ranch is located about 50 miles west of Fort Worth and is recognized nationally for its equestrian facilities. The property has housed National Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame horses such as Quintan Blue and Watch Me Whip. During its four-year ownership, Teton Ridge expanded the ranch from 618 to 860 acres, renovated existing structures, and built new facilities designed to support multiple horse disciplines.

Don Bell, associate broker at Icon Global, described the ranch as “the premier horse training facility in Parker County,” highlighting its ability to accommodate cutting, reining, and cow horse training—something uncommon due to differing arena requirements.

Kisha Itkin stated on social media that they plan to “maximize this ranch’s potential” and use it as a platform to help grow Western performance sports.

Bernard Uechtritz, founder of Icon Global, noted that buyers with the resources needed for such properties are rare: “There’s a ‘pinhole’ market for properties of this caliber.”

In August prior to this acquisition, the Itkins made news within Western performance circles by purchasing Stevie Rey Von—a cutting horse sire—for $23 million.

The TR9 Ranch includes several indoor and outdoor arenas, cattle-handling systems, barns, conditioning areas, and spectator spaces. Bell initially believed the property might need to be divided due to operational costs but said the Itkins were uniquely positioned to take on the entire facility.
