The appointments are part of ongoing efforts by the Office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott to provide leadership in statewide services, according to the official website. The office has exercised authority across Texas since Abbott’s election in 2014.
McGrath is an associate commissioner at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and volunteers with the National Charity League. She holds degrees from Rice University and George Washington University. Sturdivant works as vice president and principal strategy consultant at Deque Systems, serves on the board of Vibrant Works (formerly San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind), and graduated from St. Mary’s University with a degree in computer science. Walker is chief mission officer at Vibrant Works, a licensed professional counselor, volunteers for SJRC Texas (formerly St. Jude’s Ranch for Children), and earned her degrees from Lamar University and Our Lady of the Lake University.
