Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Perry Gilmore, Ph.D., and the appointment of Jeff Jordan to the Texas Crime Stoppers Council. Their terms will run through September 1, 2029. The council provides advice to the Governor regarding crime stoppers programs across Texas and is responsible for certifying local programs so they can receive payments for rewards or probation fees as established by state law.
Perry Gilmore, Ph.D., from Amarillo, continues his service on the council. He works as a part-time civilian staff member and reserve police officer with the Amarillo Police Department, bringing 47 years of experience in law enforcement. Gilmore holds a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Sam Houston State University, a Master of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from West Texas State University, and a Doctorate in Psychology from Northcentral University.
Jeff Jordan, based in Kyle, joins the council as a sergeant with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office. He is involved with several professional organizations including the Fraternal Order of Police and the Texas Municipal Police Association. Jordan also serves as executive director of the Hays County Crime Stoppers Association and chairs Hays County Brown Santa while volunteering for Sunshine Kids Hill Country Adventure. His educational background includes both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Texas State University. He holds multiple law enforcement certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps.
