Governor Greg Abbott has appointed D. Bailey Wynne and Kathey Comer to the Texas Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders, with terms ending August 31, 2031. The council is responsible for coordinating state services for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions.
D. Bailey Wynne, from Duncanville, is a teaching fellow and doctoral student at the University of North Texas in Denton. She is involved with several professional organizations including the American Pharmacists Association and the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Wynne also serves on the finance board for Young Life and as a commissioner on the Duncanville Planning and Zoning Board. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Creighton University, a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master of Arts in Health from Texas Woman’s University.
Kathey Comer, who resides in Tyler, is retired but has previously worked as East Texas Regional Director for U.S. Senator John Cornyn and held executive positions at various builders associations in Austin, Dallas, and Tyler. Comer participates in several community organizations such as Catalyst 100 and serves as secretary of the board for Black Hills Cemetery. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Baylor University, advanced degrees in Gerontology and Long-Term Care Administration from UNT, and completed postgraduate work in early childhood education at UT Tyler.
