Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Randall Wright to the Texas Pharmaceutical Initiative Governing Board. Wright’s term will last until February 1, 2029. The board is responsible for creating a business plan to supply cost-effective drugs and medical supplies to public employees.
Randall Wright, based in Houston, retired after working for 46 years in healthcare. He previously held positions as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Texas Children’s Hospital, and as senior vice president at Houston Methodist Hospital. He is a former member of both the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Currently, he serves on the Board of Visitors for MD Anderson Cancer Center, is a board member and vice chairman of the Eastern Illinois University Foundation, and volunteers with Baker Ripley Houston. Wright holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University.
