Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Joelle McRee, D.D.S. to the Texas Radiation Advisory Board for a term ending April 16, 2027. Six current members—Michael Britt, Joe Markham, Darlene Metter, M.D., Kenneth “Ken” Peters Ed.D., Robert “Bob” Redweik, and Darshan Sachde, Ph.D.—have been reappointed with terms expiring on April 16, 2031. The board provides guidance to the state on radiation matters and reviews policies and programs of agencies that regulate radiation.
Joelle McRee is an associate periodontist at Periodontal Surgical Arts in Austin. She holds memberships in several dental associations including the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and advanced degrees from UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry.
Michael Britt owns Britt Claims and Consulting Services in New Braunfels and has over two decades of experience in insurance. He has held leadership roles with local organizations such as the Comal County Senior Citizens Foundation.
Joe Markham serves as a lieutenant with the City of Arlington Fire Department. He is active in firefighter organizations at both local and state levels and holds degrees from Lamar University and Texas A&M University.
Kenneth “Ken” Peters is executive vice president and chief nuclear officer for Luminant based in Granbury. He chairs the Utilities Service Alliance Board of Directors and has academic credentials from institutions including Virginia Tech University.
Darlene Metter is a professor at UT Health San Antonio specializing in radiology and family medicine. She has chaired various professional committees related to radiology and nuclear medicine, receiving her medical degree from John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Robert “Bob” Redweik works as vice president for Environmental, Health, Safety, and Regulatory at Citation Oil & Gas Corp in Tomball. His previous service includes committee positions with industry groups like the American Petroleum Institute.
Darshan Sachde is a senior process chemical engineer at Trimeric Corporation in Austin. His prior work experience includes roles at Samsung Austin Semiconductor and Austin Energy; he earned his doctorate from UT Austin.
