Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Morgan Johnson to the Public Utility Commission (PUC) of Texas. Her term will last until September 1, 2031. The PUC oversees electric, water, wastewater, and telecommunications utilities in Texas and is responsible for enforcing related laws and helping consumers resolve complaints.

Morgan Johnson currently serves as deputy general counsel for the Office of the Governor. She has also worked as senior counsel to both the executive director and commissioner at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Earlier in her career, she was an attorney at McGinnis Lochridge L.L.P. Johnson is a member of both the State Bar of Texas and the Austin Bar Association. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law.
