Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Marsha Moberley to the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision. Her term will last at the Governor’s discretion. The Commission is responsible for creating uniform procedures to oversee how adult offenders under community supervision move between states. It manages individuals released into communities under court or criminal justice authority and establishes rules to fulfill its mandate.
Marsha Moberley, from Lakeway, currently serves as board chair and was formerly a commissioner on the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. She brings more than 28 years of experience in criminal justice and previously held the position of Chief Probation Officer for Deaf Smith and Oldham counties. Moberley is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Association of Paroling Authorities International and the American Probation and Parole Association. She also chaired advisory boards such as the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission’s Advisory Board and led the Panhandle Chief Probation Officers Association. Moberley earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University.
The appointment comes as Governor Abbott continues his administration’s focus on issues such as job creation, education, individual liberties, parental empowerment in schooling, economic opportunities, and border security, according to information from the official website. Since taking office after his election in 2014, Abbott has led statewide efforts across Texas through his office based primarily in Austin at the State Insurance Building (source). Under his leadership, Texas has achieved national recognition for job growth and record employment levels (source), while Abbott himself was named among TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in 2024 (source).
