Governor Abbott appoints Mark Hanna to judicial post in Fort Bend County

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Mark Hanna as Judge of the 502nd Judicial District Court in Fort Bend County. The appointment will take effect on December 1, 2025, and will last until December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Mark Hanna currently serves as the associate judge of the 458th Judicial District Court in Fort Bend County. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and previously served as secretary for the Matagorda County Bar Association. Hanna holds board certification in criminal law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He also serves on the board for the Exchange Club of Fort Bend and is a member of River Point Church.

Hanna earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Texas State University and received his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston.
