Governor Greg Abbott has appointed J. Brian Williams to serve as Judge of the 503rd Judicial District Court in Rockwall County. The appointment is effective December 1, 2025, and will continue until December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Williams currently serves as the Rockwall County Court at Law Judge. He has held leadership roles in several local organizations, including serving as a member and past president of both the Rockwall County Bar Association and the Rockwall Rotary Club. He is also vice president of the Rockwall County Open Space Alliance and is affiliated with both the State Bar of Texas and the Texas County Court at Law Judges Association.

Williams earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government from The University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
