Governor Greg Abbott has announced appointments to the One-Call Board of Texas, which oversees the “Call Before You Dig” system that alerts underground facility operators about excavation plans. This process helps ensure pipelines and utility lines are marked before digging to prevent accidents.
Tina Polin of San Antonio has been appointed to the board. She is a charitable donor advisor at the Oblate School of Theology and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Polin also serves on the Title 1 Committee for Valor Charter School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from The University of Texas at Austin.
Joe Canales of Frisco was reappointed to the board. He is senior director of construction at Spectrum, previously served on the Time Warner Cable Diversity Council, and is an active member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. Canales retired after 22 years in the United States Army Reserve.
Roberto De Leon from Corpus Christi was also reappointed. He works as director of region distribution operations for AEP Texas. De Leon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, completed the AEP/Ohio State University Leadership Program, and graduated from Leadership Corpus Christi.
Derek Delgado from Lubbock was reappointed as well. Delgado is public information officer for Lubbock Fire Rescue and formerly worked as a firefighter with Pasadena Fire Department. He chairs public affairs for Texas South Plains Honor Flight, earned a Bachelor of Science from The University of Houston — Clear Lake where he served as student regent, and holds an MBA from Louisiana State University — Shreveport.
Andrew Elijah Keefer from Austin has been appointed for a term ending August 31, 2027. Keefer is regulatory affairs administrator for Denton Municipal Electric/City of Denton and participates in several industry committees including those with Electric Reliability Council of Texas and Texas Public Power Association. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Economics from UT Austin.
