Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Eagle Pass on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The summit is part of a statewide series aimed at supporting small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing access to resources and information needed to launch and expand businesses.

“Small businesses are the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Governor Abbott. “With more than 3.5 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region. Together, we will ensure that our small business community continues to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas for generations to come.”

The event in Eagle Pass will bring together resource partners from local, state, and federal levels to offer guidance on key topics affecting small businesses. Attendees will have opportunities for networking with other business owners and can engage with experts sharing practical advice on a range of issues relevant to operating a small business.

The summit will be held at the International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Scheduled panel sessions include discussions about scaling or selling a business, financing strategies, marketing insights, and general information about starting a business. Joe Esparza, Commissioner Representing Employers at the Texas Workforce Commission, is set as the featured speaker.

Registration for the event costs $20 and includes entry to all sessions, access to resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. More details and registration are available at https://gov.texas.gov/events.

Other upcoming locations for the 2025 Governor’s Small Business Summits include Carthage on September 25, Denton on October 23 (with a focus on women), and Belton on November 13 (with a focus on veterans).

Additionally, the Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office along with the Office of Small Business Assistance continue to offer online webinars covering resources available for small businesses throughout Texas. Recordings of previous webinars can be accessed at https://gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
