DC Comics and Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC) have launched a yearlong partnership to highlight the impact of service dogs. The collaboration, which follows a previous joint effort at San Diego Comic-Con, introduces a DC-sponsored litter of guide and service dogs. These dogs will be trained to assist people who are blind or visually impaired, veterans with PTSD or traumatic brain injuries, children with autism, and public institutions through facility dog programs.

For this initiative, GDA | TLC has named the new litter after well-known DC characters: Krypto, Clark, Lois, Kara, and Lobo. Each name reflects traits associated with the characters such as loyalty, courage, intelligence, and determination.

After completing initial training in puppy pre-kindergarten, the dogs will continue their development with volunteer puppy raisers. They will learn skills aimed at helping them provide independence and companionship to those in need.

Supporters can follow updates on the puppies’ progress throughout the year via special events and social media content. There will also be opportunities for fans to meet the puppies in person at San Diego Comic-Con in July.
