Former NFL player Danny Amendola has sold his Austin home for $3.6 million, significantly below its original listing price. The property, located on Red Bud Trail in West Lake Hills, was initially listed for $5.5 million in October before being reduced to $5 million in December. The sale closed on January 12, according to public records.
Compass agent Lander Peerman represented Amendola in the transaction. The buyer is JNO 2024 Irrevocable Trust, which is linked to a wealth management firm in Ohio not previously associated with Texas properties. Another entity with a similar name, JNO Properties LLC, is registered to local entrepreneurs Abe and Jennifer Oeltjen and owns other real estate in the area.
The home is a remodeled 1968 Mid-century Modern estate spanning 4,800 square feet on a 1.1-acre lot. Amendola purchased the property for about $2 million in 2017. It features four bedrooms and four bathrooms and is located within the Eanes Independent School District.
West Lake Hills remains one of Austin’s priciest neighborhoods and has shown stability despite broader declines in residential sales since 2022. Data from Team Price Real Estate indicates that the average sale price in Amendola’s ZIP code rose by 13 percent year-over-year in 2022 to around $2,198,000 and then decreased slightly by $4,000 by 2025.
Amendola also owns another house nearby through an LLC.
“Covid really screwed up everything. It inflated prices in Austin even more than Dallas and Houston. And then ’23 and ’24 and ’25 came, and it was like this painful three-year period where everything had to correct,” Peerman said.
Peerman noted that winter tends to be slow for home sales but expressed optimism about the coming months: “I do believe this year is more of a transition year, and we might be getting back to a regular kind of market.”
Amendola retired from professional football in 2022 after playing for teams including the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and Houston Texans.
