One of the priciest homes in Dallas has changed hands after nearly $5 million in price reductions. Mark Haidar, a computer engineer and entrepreneur, purchased the property at 4231 West Lawther Drive this summer for $10.9 million, according to county records. The seller, Darren Phillips, had initially listed the White Rock Lake waterfront home for $15.8 million in January 2023 and lowered the price several times before the sale.

The residence is located near another notable estate known as Mount Vernon at 4009 West Lawther Drive. This property, a replica of George Washington’s home and previously owned by H.L. Hunt, has also experienced significant price fluctuations over recent years.

Haidar is recognized for co-founding technology companies including Dialexa, Vinli, Robin, and Rosy. He holds multiple patents and was born Mahmoud Haidar to Lebanese refugee parents in Kuwait. In 2019, he was selected as a Presidential Leadership Scholar—a program associated with the presidential centers of George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Lyndon B. Johnson—and his portrait was painted by former President George W. Bush for the book “Out of Many, One: Portraits of America’s Immigrants.”

Recent trends indicate that relistings have made up a larger portion of Texas’ ultra-luxury housing inventory during the second half of 2025 while price reductions have become more frequent.

The main house at 4231 West Lawther Drive spans three stories with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It features a basement measuring about 2,700 square feet that includes two wine cellars. The property covers almost four acres and includes an eight-car garage, horse stables, guest house, and cabana overlooking White Rock Lake near Downtown Dallas.

Mark Godson from Compass Real Estate handled the listing when it sold; Frada Sandler from Dave Perry Miller represented Phillips when it first went on sale in 2023 as Texas’ most expensive listing.
