The U.S. Census Bureau announced on March 10 that it will provide a two-day embargo period for qualified media to access the Vintage 2025 population estimates. The embargo will allow journalists to review data on total population and demographic changes for U.S. counties, metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, as well as Puerto Rico municipios and related statistical areas.
This embargo period is scheduled from Tuesday, March 24 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time until Thursday, March 26 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time. During this time, registered members of the media can view the estimates before they are released to the public.
According to the Census Bureau, these new estimates reflect population changes between April 1, 2020, and July 1, 2025. Media subscribers who wish to interview Census Bureau experts during the embargo period are instructed to email their requests in advance.
The agency reminds embargo subscribers that information accessed during this period cannot be published or shared until the official public release date and time of Thursday, March 26 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time. Subscribers are also encouraged to confirm their login credentials by March 23 and may contact the Census Bureau for assistance if needed.
The upcoming release is expected to provide updated insights into demographic trends across U.S. regions and Puerto Rico municipalities.
