The U.S. Census Bureau announced on April 9 the release of a downloadable file containing estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.

These estimates provide important demographic information for researchers, policymakers, and the public to better understand changes in the U.S. population structure.

According to the Census Bureau, additional data releases are planned in the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties, as well as population estimates for cities and towns. The agency also said it will publish further breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin at various geographic levels including metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas and counties.

In addition to national figures, future updates will feature Puerto Rico Commonwealth and municipio population estimates by age and sex.

No formal news release accompanied this announcement; instead, information was made available through a tip sheet.
